Joyce Cooley, 76, Grand
Junction, died June 24, 2010, at
Community Hospital.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday with services following
at 1 p.m. at Snell-McLean Funeral
Home in Palisade. Burial will
be at Palisade Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooley was a certifi ed
nurse’s assistant.
Survivors include her husband,
Gordon A.; two sons,
Roger Witham of Houston and
Dennis Witham of Iraq; three
stepsons, Bill Cooley Sr. and
Jim Cooley, both of Palisade,
and John Cooley of Grand
Junction; three stepdaughters,
Debbie Droege of Jerseyville.,
Ill.; Teresa Bandkowski of
Whitewater and Tammy Blood
of Grand Junction; one brother,
Sam Patterson of Kansas City,
Kan.; three sisters, Georgia
Dunn of Palisade, Lucille Dean
of Mountain Grove, Mo., and
Zelda Aaron of Coulterville, Ill.;
21 grandchildren; and 36 greatgrandchildren.

Nellie Joyce Cooley, Grand
Junction, passed away on June 24,
2010, at Community Hospital.
Joyce was born to Raymond and
Verna Patterson in Fremont, Missouri
on April 6, 1934. She spent
her childhood in Missouri and
was a resident of the Western
Slope for 58 years.
Joyce married Garland Witham
and he passed on April 11, 1991. She married Gordon Cooley on
July 29, 2000, he survives. She was a Certified Nurses Aide and
belonged to the Riverside Baptist Church. Joyce enjoyed sewing,
hunting, watching wrestling and the television show, Walker Texas
Ranger, and the trips to Mesquite with Gordon.
Joyce is preceded in death by her first husband, Garland; parents;
her daughter, Pam, and brother, Leslie. She is survived by her husband,
Gordon; sons, Roger (Maggie) Witham, Dennis (Yunghee)
Witham; step-sons, Bill (Linda) Cooley, Jim (Laurie) Cooley, John
(Tess) Cooley; step-daughters, Debbie (Dave) Droege, Teresa (Rick)
Bandkowski, Tammy (Jerry) Blood; brother, Sam Patterson; sisters,
Georgia Dunn, Zelda Aaron, Lucille Dean; 21 grandchildren, and 36
great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 beginning at
11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Snell-McLean Funeral
Home, Palisade, Colorado. Burial will follow the service at the
Palisade Cemetery.
