Earl E. "Eddie" ("Teddy") BAER, Jr., of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 23. He was 48. He was employed as a machinist at Dexter Tool Co., and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2245 in Laxahatchee.
"Teddy" was born Dec. 2, 1943 in Revere, Mass. to Earl, Sr., and Marion (Daucette). His grandparents were Edward Henry "Cub" BAER and Pearl BAER. Great-grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Henry BAER. His uncle was Mintferd N. BAER. His father, Earl E. BAER, Sr., was a sergeant in the U. S. Army during World War II and served in England and Germany for a short time before Teddy was born and so did not see his son until 1946 when he returned home and was discharged.
Teddy moved with his family to Colorado and spent time in the Sweetwater area helping his grandparents with their tourist business, the Turret Creek Ranch, following the death of grandfather Edward BAER. The family later moved to Climax, where two children were born, and then relocated to West Palm Beach, Fla. Teddy later enlisted in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam conflict and served overseas in Okinawa. He returned to Florida, where he married and raised his family.
He loved Colorado and visited here one year ago to attend to Baer family business.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Barbara Ann; a daughter, Laura; two sons, Earl Edward III and Michael LEPPERT; a sister, Darlene NEWLAND of West Palm Beach; a brother, James Henry BAER of Carbondale; and a foster brother, Donald of West Palm Beach, as well as numerous aunts, including Iola KNUTH of Paonia, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Cremation was performed and services were held Feb. 26 in West Palm Beach. Final interment will take place at a later date in Eagle.
