MRS. HENRY BAER DIES. Mrs. Henry BAER, resident of Eagle for the past 45 years, passed away at her home here July 24, following a long illness.
Mrs. BAER, who was 81 years old at the time of her death, had been in poor health for the past few years, and had suffered a stroke a short time before her death. Mr. BAER has also been in extremely poor health for a long time, and the two have been faithfully cared for by Mrs. George PRIEST of Eagle who gave up other interest to give Mrs. BAER the attention she needed in the period before her passing.
Funeral service was held at the Community Methodist church with Paul A. SHIELDS officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. David ANDERSON and Mrs. Ida DICKERSON, accompanied by Mrs. Paul A. SHIELDS. Interment was in the Eagle cemetery, July 26.
Lucy May BAER was born May 1, 1866, in Randolph, N. Y. With her father and mother she moved to Nebraska when she was a small girl, and was united in marriage at the age of 19 to Henry BAER at Linnious [sic.: Linneus], Mo. The young couple soon moved to Nebraska, where Mr. BAER rented her father's farm for one year. They then moved to Chase county, Neb., where they homesteaded for three years, moving in 1891 to Colorado. For 13 years they made their home at Norrie, where Mr. BAER was employed in a sawmill, and moved to Eagle in 1902, residing here since that time.
Mrs. BAER joined the Methodist church in her young womanhood and was a faithful member of the Community Methodist church in Eagle when she died. Her three children, Marion May GREEN, Anne Lucy BROWN and Edward BAER, all preceded the mother in death. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two half-sisters and one half brother.
