Henry “Hank” Frederick Frigon, 76, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Beaver Creek and Westhampton Beach, N.Y., passed away at his home in Scottsdale on June 18.

Beloved husband of Anne Marie (McCarthy), devoted father of Megan, H. Christopher, Scott and Mark Frigon, Michele Spatzek and Stephanie Carreira, he is also survived by his brother, Donald Frigon, and 10 beautiful grandchildren.

An international business executive and entrepreneur, Hank previously served as chief executive officer of BATUS, Inc., of Louisville, Ky., which had holdings in Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation, Saks Fifth Avenue, Marshall Fields, Kohl's, Farmers Insurance and Appleton Papers. He also served as chief financial officer of Hallmark Cards Inc. in Kansas City, Mo. Hank's career included financial and management positions with Masco Corporation, General Housewares Corporation, General Foods Corporation and Chase Manhattan Bank. Board positions included H&R Block, Packaging Corporation of America, Dimon Corporation, Tuesday Morning, Iams Corporation, CARSTAR Inc., Buckeye Technologies, Pulte Housing, Sypris Solutions and Nautilus International.

Hank earned a B.S. in engineering at Tufts University, an MBA from New York University, and graduated from Harvard's Advanced Management Program.

He was a proud member of the Business Council at the University of Notre Dame, the Vail Valley Foundation, Legatus and the American Association of the Knights of Malta. He was also a founding board member for the Spitzer Center for Ethical Leadership.

Hank was a self-made man, born to a family of modest means. He recognized his own legacy would not have been possible without having been given the gift of educational scholarships throughout his early life. Consistent with this heritage, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Catholic School, attn: Hank Frigon Scholarship Fund, P.O.
