Harvey G. Reese, 64, Grand
Junction, died Sept. 5, 2010, at
the Veterans Affairs Medical
Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Monday at the Veterans Memorial
Cemetery of Western
Colorado.
Mr. Reese was a staff sergeant
in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two daughters,
Robin Briggs of Windsor
and Staci Douglas of Grand
Junction; his mother, Trilby
Reese of Grand Junction; four
brothers, Garland Reece of
Kerrville, Texas, Cecil Reese
of Montrose, and Robby Reese
and Roger Reese, both of Grand
Junction; and two grandchildren.

Harvey Gene Reese died peacefully
on September 5, 2010 at the
Community Living Center wing
of the VA Hospital in Grand
Junction, after two weeks in the
loving care of CLC nurses and
staff, and his closest family and
friends. He was 64-years old.
Harvey was born on November
2, 1945 to Marvin E. and Trilby
(Halbert) Reese, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Harvey has two daughters, Robin (Reese) Briggs of Windsor, Colorado
and Staci (Reese) Douglas of Grand Junction. Harvey has one
grandson, Zackery Douglas, and one granddaughter, Lily Briggs.
He is also survived by his mother, Trilby, and four brothers, Garland
of Ingram, TX; Cecil of Montrose, CO, and Robbie and Roger
of Grand Junction, CO, all of whom he cherished and loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his dear father, Marvin E. Reese, June
9, 2010, and his older brother Twyman, 1959.
Harvey proudly served in the US Army in the 101st Airborne during
the Vietnam War. He was awarded one Silver Star, five Bronze
Stars, and three Purple Hearts.
Harvey enjoyed baseball, particularly rooting for the Rockies with
his grandson Zackery, watching Nascar, and razzing his daughters
and grandchildren. He was a proud member of the Masons.
Harvey possessed an impeccable moral character and led by example
for those who knew him, steadfastly practicing kindness, humility,
grace and compassion for all those with whom he interacted.
These character traits are an unmistakable legacy that he has left behind
for his children and grandchildren, attributes to which we all
aspire to abide by in his remembrance.
He will be sorely missed and graciously remembered.
Harvey will be honored by his friends and family during a ceremony
at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, September
13th at 10:00 sharp.
