David E. Smyth passed away
August 13, 2010 at St. Mary’s
Hospital after a sudden illness,
her was 75.
David was born on July 23, 1935
in Buffalo, New York from the
union of David and Beatrice
(Vogt) Smyth. David was a
twenty years Grand Junction resident
and a salesman for several
industries. He was honorably discharged Navy Veteran Radioman.
He married the love of his life, Gayle Hula in Yuma AZ on September
3, 1955, she survives.
David enjoyed radio controlled airplanes and was an avid Bronco’s
fan.
David leaves behind his wife of fifty-four years, Gayle Smyth of
Grand Junction, a son; Daniel Smyth of Phoenix, AZ, two daughters;
Laura Smyth of Clifton, CO and Jacquelyn Chavez of Lubbock,
TX, a brother: Donald Smyth of Cheyenne, WY, two sisters; Judy
Bennett of Lubbock, TX and Jeanne Phipps of Marionville, MO,
two grandchildren and a special feline companion Kramer.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 19,
2010 at Martin Mortuary with a committal at the Veterans Memorial
Cemetery of Western Colorado at 3:00 PM.
