Jack BAIRD, 55, was found dead in his bed in his cabin home at Pando last Tuesday, having apparently died of a heart attack between the time he was discovered dead and Sunday morning when he was last seen.
BAIRD was living in a cabin owned by G. I. MURPHY as a caretaker and had been there since in November. Mr. MURPHY who is a Rio Grande locomotive engineer, owns a summer home at Pando, and BAIRD had been placed in charge to look after things in the winter.
Little is known of the deceased here. Mr. MURPHY was in Eagle Wednesday and was trying to locate relatives of the deceased, but had not been successful up to Thursday morning. MURPHY thinks there is an uncle of the dead man living in Delta, but had not been able to locate him there.
Sunday morning, BAIRD went to the postoffice and was given his mail by Mrs. Gus BENSON. He returned to the cabin, and when, two days passed, with no one seeing him, investigation by the BENSONS disclosed that he was dead--lying in bed, having, apparently, passed out gently, without a struggle.
The body is being held at the Andre funeral home in Eagle, awaiting disposition.
