DEATH OF MRS. F. C. BARKER.
After struggling between life and death for three weeks, Mrs. F. C. BARKER passed to the great beyond. She is survived by a husband and four children. They have all reached their majority and are by a former marriage. They are: Mrs. Aggie JOHNSON of Cripple Creek, James and William LAW of Red Cliff, Colorado, and Johnnie LAW, who has been his mother's constant attendant [sic.] since the death of a sister, Miss Anna LAW, who died four years ago. Johnnie's Basalt friends will be glad to know that he was ever at his mother's bedside and was a great comfort to her in her declining years. God will bless such sons.
Mrs. Annistata BARKER was born in Canada may 5, 1810, and came to Colorado in 1865, where she was married to Mr. F. C. BARKER on October 8th, 1889. She died Friday, March 9th, 1905, at Cardiff, Colo., and would therefore have been 65 years old next May.
Comforting words were spoken by Rev. CURRENS of Glenwood Springs. The choir sang three beautiful hymns. They were: "Nearer My God to Thee," "It is Well With My Soul," and "Go Bury Thy Sorrow."
Mrs. Barker was a sufferer for eighteen years. She was a friend to everybody and had a kind word and a smile for all, and was dearly loved by all who knew her. Her daughter, Mrs. JOHNSON, of Cripple Creek, and her two sons of Red Cliff, were in attendance at the funeral.
The sorrowing husband and children have the sympathy of friends in their great sorrow.
