Karol Anna returned home to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father
on October 1, 2010 in Sacramento, California. Born in Gunnison,
Colorado on June 16, 1939 to Ralph Ivan and Hazel Lakes
Dennis.
Karol attended local schools in Gunnison, Colorado where she later
graduated from Western State College of Colorado with her
Bachelor's degree in Education and received her Masters in Special
Education from Brighton Young University in Provo, UT. Karol
loved children and taught a variety of grades in Fruita, Colorado
from which she retired after 35 years of service. Along with her love
for her family and the education of children, Karol also enjoyed
books and reading, photography, gardening, nature; especially fall
and the colors that it brings, family history and serving her Lord in
the various callings that she had within the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Hoaglund White
(Zane) of Pinedale, WY, and Cheryl Hoaglund Struble (Marvin) of
Cottonwood, CA; sister, Kathleen Burrows (Marc) of Sandy, UT; 12
grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews
and countless loving friends. She is preceded in death by two sons,
Michael Wayne Hoaglund and Stephen Dale Hoaglund; one brother,
Alan Lee Dennis and her parents.
Karol will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorial services
will be held Monday, October 11 at 10:30 a.m at the Anderson
LDS Chapel, 4075 Riverside Ave, Anderson, California followed
by a memorial service to be held on October 14 at 10:00 a.m.
at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fruita Ward
Chapel, 3432 E. Ottley Ave., Fruita, Colorado. Interment will be in
the Elmwood Cemetery, Fruita, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please
consider a donation to the Cottonwood Community Library, P.O.
