Thomas L. Allen III, 50,
Grand Junction, died Oct. 11,
2010, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday at Orchard Mesa
Cemetery.
Mr. Allen is survived by his
parents, Thomas Jr. of Moretown,
Utah, and Margaret Wolverton
of Grand Junction; and
two brothers, Harold Eugene
of McPherson, Kan., and Daniel
Raymond of Grand Junction.

Thomas Allen III passed away at his Grand Junction home on October
11, 2010.
Thomas was born December 18, 1959 in Fruita, Colorado from the
union of Thomas Allen Jr. and Margaret Aspinwall. He attended local
schools and attained his GED. Thomas was a very loving person,
always happy and considerate. He took great pride in his moral
character, due to the illness he had struggled with for many years.
Sometimes he came across gruff and stern however, those that knew
him always knew it was just words and that he was truly a teddy
bear.
Thomas had a great love of history and religion. Even as a child he
would read on the subjects. He also had a fondness for the great outdoors.
He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed the Grand Mesa and
fishing in the many lakes it provided. His mother remembers the
wonderful meals that Thomas would make for her, never using a
cookbook - just his intuition on which ingredients would go best together.
Thomas leaves behind his father, Thomas Allen Jr. (Stephanie
Venema) of Moretown, Vermont; mother, Margaret (Butch) Wolverton
of Grand Junction, Colorado; brothers, Harold (Shirley Estrada)
of McPherson, Kansas and Daniel of Grand Junction; four
nieces and one nephew.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010,
11:00 a.m. at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery where he will be laid to
rest with his paternal grandparents. A luncheon will follow where
you may share your memories with the family. Arrangements have
been entrusted to Martin Mortuary. Please leave you condolences

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Thomas'
name to Colorado West Regional Mental Health, 515 28 3/4 Road
Building A, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501. The funds received
will be used to assist uninsured people who are seeking mental
health treatment to secure the help they need to protect themselves
and others.
