Bern was born in St. Louis, MO,
the last surviving of the five
siblings of Theodore Heinrich
Norpoth and Emma Dustin Young
Norpoth.
He married his high school
sweetheart, Mary Evelyn Redd, in
St. Louis on April 8, 1932.
Bern served in the Air Force toward
the end of World War II. He
worked at several financial institutions in St. Louis, Asheville, NC,
and ended his work experience as vice president at what is now
RBC Wealth Management in Denver, CO. His wife, Mary, passed
away in 1988. He moved to Grand Junction in 1998. He lived at the
Atrium for the last ten years.
He is survived by his only child, Mary Nelson, of Grand Junction,
three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren, who all loved and adored him. He will be missed.
Internment will be at the Episcopal Cathedral in Denver.
Memorial donations maybe made to Hospice and Palliative Care of
Western Colorado.
