CHARLOTTE WILCOX BEATY.
The Basalt community lost a beloved friend on August 7, 1942, with the passing of Mrs. B. I. BEATY. The deceased had been in ill health for the past few years, and recently confined to the Aspen hospital, where death called her.
Charlotte Ada WILCOX was born in Aspen October 15, 1890. At the age of 16 she was married to B. I. BEATY, on May 1, 1907.
Mrs. BEATY was well known here, her husband having been mail messenger between Basalt and Emma for the past twenty years.
Funeral services were held at the Sardy Mortuary in Aspen on August 11, with a large crowd of Basalt residents attending. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. R. E. CULVER, of San Diego, Calif.; three sons, W. A. of Denver, Ernest B., with the armed forces across the seas, and James C., with the U. S. Amy at Livingston, La.; and one sister, Mrs. Hattie NESTTE of Los Angeles, Calif.
