Irene M. Abbey passed away at
her home on November 4, 2010.
She was 87 years old.
Irene was born on February 23,
1923 to Mr. and Mrs. William
Mills in Swink, Oklahoma. She
spent her childhood there moving
to Grand Junction in time to attend
Grand Junction High School
and spent the next 71 years in the
Valley.
She married Meade A. Abbey on
April 4, 1943. Irene was a waitress
and sales clerk. She was a
member of the First Congregational
Church and the Eagles
Lodge. Irene enjoyed fishing,
crafts and gardening.
Irene is survived by her husband,
Meade; nephews, Dennis (Carmen)
Smith; Kenny (Lori) Smith;
Mark Head, and many nieces and
extended family members.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 10th from 6 -
8:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary. Funeral services will be on Thursday,
November 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Wilkie officiating
at the mortuary. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens.

8 p.m. Wednesday at Martin
Mortuary Chapel.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday at the mortuary chapel.
She is survived by her husband,
Meade.
