Don W. Fears, 67, Fruita,
died Nov. 3, 2010, at St. Mary’s
Hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today
at Monument Valley Congregation
of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Mr. Fears was a uranium
miner.
Survivors include his wife,
Betsy; one son, Robert C. of
Craig; one daughter, Brenda
D. of Craig; his mother and
stepfather, Lolita and Jack A.
Westlund of Grand Junction;
one brother, Lonnie of Clifton;
one half-sister, Donna Hodge
of Oregon; and two grandchildren.

Wallace Fears passed away on
November 3, 2010 at St. Mary's
Hospital due to complications of
Uranium Lung Cancer. He was 67
years old.
Don was born on February 19,
1943 to Cleo and Lolita (Murray)
Fears in Lodi, California. He married
Betsy McCarty on July 6,
1946 in Monticello, Utah. They
were married for 46 wonderful years. Don owned and operated
BD+R Cleaning for 25 years. He lived in Bishop, California and
Craig, Colorado before moving to Fruita seven years ago. Don was a
member of Monument Valley Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He was a three year survivor of a massive stroke and was happy to
say he beat it. Don loved to hunt, fish, camp, boat, ride 4 wheelers,
work in his yard, and had a passion for Classic Cars. Don especially
loved his family and had many friends.
Don is preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Jerry Lee
Fears. He is survived by his wife, Betsy of Fruita; two children,
Robert (Tarissa) Fears of Craig; Brenda Fears of Craig; mother and
step-father, Lolita and Jack Westlund of Grand Junction; brother,
Lonnie (Joyce) Fears of Clifton; sister, Donna (Larry) Hodge of
Athens, Oregon, and two grandchildren, Robert Schmidt and Alyssa
Fears.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at
3:00 p.m. at the Monument Valley Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses,
2334 H Road, Grand Junction, with burial to follow at New
Elmwood Cemetery, Fruita. Memorial contributions can be made to
The American Cancer Society.
