Janet Suzanna Giannone June 22, 1935 – January 7, 2011 Jan Giannone, 75, extended into eternal rest Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. She was born June 22, 1935 in Ellis, KS and came to Grand Junction in 1959. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. For the last two and one half years Jan has been fighting Ovarian Cancer with a very brave and courageous attitude. On January 2, 2011 she was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia, which ended her battle. She is survived by her only living brother, Theodore Neuburger of Pratt, KS; two children, son, Joseph Giannone, Jr. and daughter, Gina Giannone; two grandchildren, Bradley Mark Giannone of Graham, WA and Carrie Giannone of Tacoma. WA; three great grandchildren, Nickalos Giannone, Julianna Giannone, and Elijah Giannone all of Graham, WA. A memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Father Jim Plough celebrating. Her wishes were for cremation and to be placed in the Columbarium at IHM. The family suggests any donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090B N. 12th St, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
