Virginia Ellen Amos passed away after battling cancer on July 24,
2010. She was 84 years old.
Virginia was born on July 31, 1925 to Leonard and Verna Mae
(Propst) Stubbs in Osceola, IA.
Virginia was a beautician. She married Lincoln Davis and they
later divorced. She married James Boyde Amos and they were married
for 58 years before he preceded her in death on July 14, 2002 in
Fruita. Virginia enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, working on
crossword puzzles, and in her younger years, traveling with James.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Phyllis and Sandy;
one brother, Leonard Jr. and her husband. She is survived by her
son, Fred Davis of Springfield, OR; sister, Pat Jeffery of Canon
City, CO; three grandchildren, twins, Shane of Eugene, OR and
Shawn of Hawaii; Mike (Joy) of Seattle, and one great granddaughter,
Jasmine of Seattle.
Virginia had a strong faith that when she fell asleep in death John
11:1-25 She would eventually be awaken by her God Jehovah own
due time, all tears, pain and suffering would be gone forever. Rev.
21:3,4 She could enjoy what lies before her “a paradise earth” Luke
23:43.
Visitation will be held on July 31, 10 - 11:00 a.m. at Martin Mortuary.
Memorial services will follow at Monument Valley Congregation
of Jehovah’s Witness’, 2334 H Road, Grand Junction at 2:00
p.m. William Selle will officiate.

Doris passed on to her heavenly home on July 26, 2010.
She was born August 17, 1921 in Rocky Ford to Ralph and Lena
McDaniel. Doris was the second of eight children, growing to adulthood
in the Rulison community.
On October 26, 1937 she married Fred Vondette. A few early years
were spent in Uravan, CO with the majority of years in Rifle, moving
to Grand Junction in 1978. The couple had four children. Family
was important to Doris and she loved and enjoyed all. After
moving to Grand Junction, Doris and her husband were members of
Good Sam's and went on numerous trips with the group. They were
also involved in the Tuesday group that met for lunch at the Clifton
Hall. She was a member of Pear Park Baptist Church.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother,
Ralph; an infant daughter; a son, Melvin; two grandchildren and a
great great grandson.
Among those that grieve her passing include Richard Vondette of
Grand Junction; Robert (Donna) Brown; Karen Vondette of Rifle,
CO; Mason (Ethel) Stout; Joyce McDaniel of Anaheim, CA; Robert
(Carolina) McDaniel of Salem, OR; Rodney (Alice) McDaniel of
Rulison; Floyd McDaniel of Parachute, CO; Donald (Marge)
McDaniel of Washington, UT; Vernon (Camille) McDaniel of Pacific
Palisade,CA, and Mrs. Bert McDaniel of Grand Junction; eight
grandchildren and their families and numerous nieces, nephews,
great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Martin Mortuary on Sunday, August 1,
2010 from 2 - 5:00 p.m. Services will be Monday, August 2 at 1:00
p.m. at Pear Park Baptist Church with burial to follow at Rose Hill
Cemetery in Rifle.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Pear Park Baptist
Church.
