Caitlyn went to dance with the
angels following an automobile
accident. Caitlyn embraced the
joy of life every day. Caity always
knew what to do or say to
brighten your day; whether it was
a kind word, a dance just for you,
or a million dollar smile. By example, she encouraged everyone to
look at the blessings in every situation and to embrace all the joy
and fun to be found.
Caitlyn's creativity touched everything she did. She danced, was
incredibly artistic, and everywhere she went, she left a trail of smiles
in her wake.
Caitlyn danced competitively with Absolute Dance and had taken
classes since she was three. She loved all forms of dance, but hip
hop was her favorite. She received many awards for dance over the
years.
Caity was involved in the Art Club at Fruita Monument High
School, and she was taking Advanced Art classes. She loved drawing,
painting, and ceramics.
Caitlyn enjoyed riding horses and played Polocrosse, Equestrian
Racket Ball "E-Ball," and had begun Team Penning and Sorting.
Caitlyn enjoyed working in the flower garden. She said it made her
feel peaceful, relaxed and gave her time to think.
Caity was elated when her classmates voted her "Best Smile" for
the yearbook senior class favorites, although she admitted she was
going for "Most Spirited!"
Of all of Caitlyn's many hobbies, her favorite was hanging out with
her friends.
She loved spending time with her family, friends and animals.
Strangers were just friends she hadn't met yet. Caitlyn freely extended
her kindness and generosity to everyone. Her wish to be an
organ donor insured her legacy will live on.
Anyone who knew Caity was forever changed by her passion for
living joyously.
Caitlyn is survived by her parents, Al and Dana True; her beloved
sister, Brianna True; her grandmother, Anne "Nana" Dickerson; her
grandparents, Alvin and Yolanda True, and her much loved extended
family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her
grandfather, Paul Dickerson.
Those who wish to honor Caitlyn's memory can do so by being involved
in any of the projects she was passionate about.
Caitlyn had begun her "Warm Hearts Project" to provide coats and
blankets for the less fortunate. Drop off locations can be found in
many places around the community. Or donations can be made in
her name to the Roice Hurst Humane Society. Additionally, a memorial
fund has been established in her name at US Bank.
Services will be on Saturday, October 23. 2010 at 10:00 a.m at
Fellowship Church in Grand Junction, CO.
