MRS. W. M. BECK DIES AT CLIFTON.
Mrs. Helen Ann BECK, wife of Wm. M. BECK, old time resident of Eagle county, died at her home in Clifton Monday morning after an extended illness.
The deceased lady was one of the pioneer women of Eagle county, she and her husband having settled on the ranch near Edwards, which they still own, over forty years ago.
Born July 14, 1868, at Argpyle, Wis., she passed her girlhood days in that state. As a young woman she came to Colorado, and it was at New Castle, on May 5, 1895, she became the bride of William BECK. For many years she made her home on the Beck ranch at Edwards, where they became leading citizens of the community and county.
In 1913 the Becks purchased a small place in Clifton, where they moved and have since lived. However, they never parted with their Eagle county holdings and several months each year have always been spent at the ranch.
No children were born to them and Mrs. BECK is survived only by the husband and a cousin, Don THURSTON, of Rifle.
Her death is regretted and Mr. BECK has the heartfelt sympathy of hundreds of Eagle county friends in the loss of a beloved wife and companion.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, and the body was laid to rest in the Municipal cemetery at Clifton, with graveside services being conducted by ladies of the Rebekah lodge, of which Mrs. BECK had been a member for a number of years.
