Delbert R. Moore, age 92, formerly of Olathe, Colorado, passed
away early Sunday morning, August 7, 2011 at the V.A. Medical
Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Delbert was born February 1, 1919 to Charly E. and Georgia Lee
(Harlas) Moore in Pottawatamie County, Oklahoma, where he received
his education. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the United
States Army, serving his country 16 years during WWII from 1937
to 1953. He was honorably discharged, with injuries and granted a
Purple Heart Award. Delbert married Lois Merline Clark, July 31,
1940 in Duncan, Oklahoma. They had moved from Elm Springs, AR
where they had resided for 20 years. The two moved to Olathe in
1999 where they made their home until Lois' time of death, on September
18, 2002 at her home in Olathe. Following her death, Delbert
moved from Olathe to Clifton for a short time, before moving to
Retreat at Palisade where he made his home for the next three years.
Delbert loved gardening, growing flowers and vegetables, and loved
to travel. He planted and raised over 100 chestnut trees that he
would pick and sell for many years.
Surviving family members include his sons, Roy (Leila) Moore of
Farmington, AR; Donald (Inda May) Moore of Tontitown, AR;
three daughters, Merline Ramsey of Cheyenne, WY; Debra
Gustafson of Minturn, CO; Georgianna (Robert) Manzanares of
Eagle, CO; two brothers, Charley Moore of Medford, OR, and Fred
(Billie) Moore of Klamath Falls, OR; 13 grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren
A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 2:00
p.m. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service with
Military Honors followed the service at the Olathe Cemetery, in
Olathe, CO. Condolences may also be sent to the family at

of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, CO.
