passed away peacefully Wednesday
morning, October 20, 2010 at
her home.
Funeral services in loving remembrance
and celebration of
Jere's life will be officiated on
Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Crippin Funeral Home
Chapel, 802 E. Main Street. Burial will follow at Grand View Cemetery,
west of Montrose. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled
for Friday, October 22nd from 5 - 7:00 p.m. at Crippin Funeral
Home Chapel.
Jere, the daughter of Norman and Mildred Beckman, was born
January 4, 1932, in Fruita, Colorado. She spent her childhood living
in several places on the western slope, and moved to Grand Junction,
Colorado where she graduated from Grand Junction High
School with the class of 1950. On August 17, 1950, Jere married her
high school sweetheart, Don DaLee and they celebrated 59 years of
marriage prior to Don's death on December 21, 2009. They were
blessed with two daughters, Alana "Lanie" English and Rhonda
Skiff. Jere worked for United Bank of Grand Junction until the birth
of her first child. Jere and Don moved to Montrose in April 1959
where she resided until the time of her death. Jere worked for many
years in the State Farm Insurance Office with Don until she retired
in 1975. Jere's main focus and joy in life was raising her girls and
helping her husband with all his community projects. She cherished
her grandchildren who called her G.G. and loved keeping up with all
their activities. She had a special interest in crafts, reading and
watching all sports, especially football on TV. Jere was a member of
the Montrose Christian Church.
Jere is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Skiff and son-in-law,
Wayne Skiff; son-in-law, Gary English and five grandchildren,
Steven Skiff, Amber Hescher and her husband, Jeremy, Brittany
English, Kirk English, and Rick English. Also surviving are two
cousins, Shirley Murray and Marian Colman as well as many nieces
and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, Donald DaLee, and daughter, Alana (DaLee) English.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
Montrose Christian Church, in memory of Jere DaLee, 2351 Sunnyside
Rd., Montrose, CO 81402. Arrangements are under the direction
of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado.
