John “Jack” Twidale died peacefully
of natural causes Monday,
November 22, 2010 with his family
and friends by his side. Jack
lived to 90 years.
He was born on June 29, 1920 to
Joseph William and Ethel Cleworth
Twidale in Casper, WY.
Jack grew up on a ranch in Lost
Cabin, WY, where he graduated
in 1939 from Natrona County High School in Casper, WY. Jack
married the love of his life, Julia Belle Bloomquist, on August 2,
1947 in Casper, WY. They moved to Big Timber, Montana, where
they ranched until 1955. They relocated to Buffalo, WY where he
prospered as a dairy farmer. After the sale of Jack’s farm, he sought
a new way of life for his family.
He relocated his wife, Julia, and his daughter, Linda to Grand
Junction, CO in 1961. Jack worked in Grand Junction as a carpenter
and then purchased TEBO Trash Service that serviced a large part of
Grand Junction. Even though he loved the peaches and mild weather
in Grand Junction, he moved back to WY with his wife in 1969.
Jack always had a passion for cattle and continued to raise them on a
small 80 acre property outside of Lander, WY. Jack was employed
by the County and retired in 1992 when he moved back to Grand
Junction, CO to be closer to his daughter.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Julia Belle; parents, brother,
and two sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Litsey;
son-in-law, Art Kuersten of Grand Junction; adopted daughter, Gail
Brawley of Mack, CO; three grandchildren, Letitia (Wesley) Sharp
of Oahu, Hawaii; LaRissa (Daniel) Hanson of Bend, OR; three great
grandchildren; niece, Margaret Ruvalcaba (MO); nephews, John Ott
(WY) and Gerald Ott (WY).
The family appreciates all of the kindness and assistance that Jack
received at La Villa Grande for six years. A special thank you also
to Hospice for all of their care and a special heartfelt appreciation to
Ruth Johnson for her years of service to mankind as a volunteer.
Internment will be in Lander, WY. A memorial service will be held
at a later date. Those who knew Jack soon realized that they had met
a gentleman. Jack was a man of his word and his handshake was as
good as any contract. He is very much loved and will be greatly
missed by all.
