Geraldine Griego died peacefully
at Hospice Care Center from
Alzheimer’s Disease Sunday, November
28, 2010.
She was born April 5, 1920 to
Walter Otto Bahn and Meta M.
Scholzel in Colby, Wisconsin.
She is survived by her husband,
Rufus Griego of Fruita, CO; six children, Dennis Schumacher of
Callahan, FL; Judith Cordova of San Lorenzo, CA; Linda Lane of
Dillon, MT; Alvin Schumacher of Memphis, TN; Karen Schumacher
of Grand Junction, CO; Mary Nelson of Craig, CO, and four
step children, Deborah Marie Dennis of MI; Roger Griego of Denver,
CO; Victoria Griego of Denver, CO, and Georgina Saenz of
Denver, CO. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kandi
Clark, Amy Zink, Eric Schumacher, Duane Schumacher, Denny
John Schumacher, Michael Shane Watson, Sheila Stevenson, Kim
Kivett, and Debbie Robinson; eight step grandchildren, Sasha Nelson,
Dan Nelson, Dan Dennis, Christopher Griego, Alex Griego,
Kameron Griego, Kylie Griego, James Esquivel, Eric Saenz, and
Nichole Saenz. She was preceded in death by her parents and her
siblings, Bernita Knickerbocker and Chester Bahn, and one grandson,
Wayne Watson.
A memorial service was held shortly after her passing in Grand
Junction, CO.
Family members are holding a grave-side service for Geraldine on
May 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in Eagle, CO at the Eagle Cemetery. The
family would be honored by the presence of any friends and neighbors
who wish to attend.

Chapel.
Ms. Griego was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband,
Rufus; three sons, Dennis

Alvin Schumacher of Memphis,
Tenn., and Roger Griego of
Denver; seven daughters. Karen
Schumacher of Grand Junction,
Judith Cordova of San Loranzo,
Calif., Linda Lane of Dillon,
Mont., Mary Nelson of Craig,
Georgina Seinz of Denver, Deborah
Marie Dixson of Michigan and Victoria Griego of Denver;
and 19 grandchildren.
