Robert "Bob" Bellefeuille, 64 of Eagle, died on Monday after a long illness and multiple strokes. He was 64.

Bellefeuille was born to Philip and Alean Bellefeuille on March 24, 1939 in St. Cloud, Minn. Bob was a resident of Eagle since 1976 and despite suffering a broken back in 1983, friends say Bob will always be remembered as a neighbor who would help someone on the side of the road or stuck in the snow.

Bob spent his life operating heavy excavation equipment and high boom cranes and was starting an outfitting business until his broken back caused him to have to learn to walk again. Bob remained an active hunter and fisherman even if he was unable to walk 100 feet from the truck. Bob spent the last 5 years of his life in considerable pain, but was always a happy man to be around and ready with a joke or a tall tale to tell you, friends and family members say.

Bob is survived by his wife, Andrea Vesque; stepdaughters, Cathy Dumolt and Jean Wilson, both of Eagle; and five grandchildren.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held 11:30, Sunday, at the J-8 Ranch, 0001 Cedar Lane, Eagle. For more information call 328-0442.

The family has asked that donations be made to Bob Bellefeuille Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 206, Eagle, CO 81631. Funds will go toward to purchasing a bench in Bob's name on the ECO Trail system.
