She and George Julius Hrozny were married August 17, 1935 at Crown Point, IN. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1981. They lived in Berwyn, Illinois for several years, then built a home in Tri State Village near Hinsdale, Illinois, where they raised their three daughters, Janne, Judie and Sharon. In 1974, she and George moved to Palisade and made their home on an apricot orchard on Rapid Creek. She will be remembered for making donuts for everyone, including the workers. Irene dearly loved her family and looked forward to each new addition. She sang "You Are My Sunshine" to all the little ones. She loved watching birds, especially the hummingbirds that fed near her kitchen window. She collected clowns and loved flowers, especially roses. She liked to read, do crossword puzzles, cook and bake. Everyone loved her kolaches. She did many crafts and enjoyed the ladies of a local craft club. She learned to crochet at age six and made countless afghans, tablecloths, doilies and other beautiful items over the years, always giving to others.
