Emmeline (Emmy) Mae Rash
was born September 28, 1929, in
Gunnison, CO, to Ralph B. and
Nona E. Lehman. She attended
school in Gunnison graduating
from Gunnison High School in
1947 and Western State College
in 1957.
On June 10, 1962, Emmy married
Willis M. Rash. They were
married 36 years when Willis died on October 4, 1998.
Emmy worked for the telephone company for many years until she
received her teaching degree. She then taught for School District 51
at various schools for 30 years.
Emmy loved her children, grandchildren, arts and crafts and gardening.
She was a member of the Colorado Teaching Association,
Gunnison Pioneer Society, Delta Kappa Gamma Education Sorority,
Orchard Mesa Lion's Club Ladies Group and the First United Methodist
Church.
Surviving her are sons, Michel Rash of Grand Junction, CO, William
(Linda) Rash of Grand Junction, CO and Steve (Lea) Rash of
Grand Junction, CO; one sister, Zetta (Carl) Marchun of Fruita, CO,
twelve grandchildren, and nine great- Grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Willis Rash, her parents and her
daughter, Patricia Jackson.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2010
at the First United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM with Reverend
Blaine Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Gunnison Cemetery,
Gunnison, CO.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist
Church at 522 White Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary
