Patricia Sommerville joined her
heavenly Father December 5,
2010. She had battled with
chronic COPD for over ten years.
Patricia was born in Burlington,
Colorado to Herman and Tina
(Lundy) Korthas. She was raised
by her mother and step father,
Henry “Shorty” Tow after her
parents divorced. Patricia came to
live in Grand Junction after her first husband Marvin Janes died
suddenly in 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This left her with the duty
of raising their two daughters as a single mother.
She was active in the Equestrian Side Saddle Riding group, Frontier
Bells, for several years. Pat enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid
hunter, enjoyed camping, fishing, riding ATV's and snow machines.
She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo L. Sommerville;
both of her parents; first husband, Marvin Janes; brothers, Allen Korthas,
Ray Korthas, Don Korthas, Richard Korthas, Russ Tow and
Boyd Tow; sisters, Cora Korthas, and Alice (Korthas) Phelps.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicky (Richard) Martin of Grand
Junction, and Roberta Dalton of Fruita; four grandchildren, John
Wilkerson of Grand Junction; Renae (Allen) Phillips of Grand
Junction; Will (Ashley) Hart of Gillette, Wyoming and Angela Hart
of Whitewater; two great grandsons, Jade Wilkerson of Grand Junction;
Korbin Wilkerson of Grand Junction; one great granddaughter,
Samantha Hart of Gillette, Wyoming; sister, Cleo (Norlin) Akers of
Loveland, Colorado; several nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Cremation has taken place. On December 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.,
Patricia and her husband, Leo L. Sommerville, who passed before
her will be buried in the Elmwood Cemetery, 1175 17 ¼ Road,
Fruita, Colorado. Immediately following the burial a Celebration of
Life Memorial service will be held at the LDS Church 2949 Hwy.
50 (Orchard Mesa) Grand Junction, Colorado.

Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090B N. 12th
Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
