Kendra Lea Cunningham, 40, passed away on July 26 in Denver.
Born on April 14, 1971, she and her twin brother, Tristiam, were the first set of twins born in the Vail Valley. She attended Battle Mountain High School, and was employed by Little John's and WestStar Bank.
With an adventurous spirit, she thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, including camping, jeeping, rafting and all manner of things that living in the Vail Valley has to offer. As a kind soul and an avid animal lover, she often took in those in need of tender loving care. It has been said, “If you were broken, she would fix you. If you were lost, she would help you find your way home. If you needed a home, her home was yours.†Whether outdoors enjoying the mountains, or indoors rallied around the kitchen table, spending time with her family and friends brought her great joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Ann Bernard (Stone) of Columbus, Ga.; granddaughter, Ella; father, Jim Cunningham of Marble; brother, Travis Cunningham of Denver; sister, Beth Brugger (Brian) of Highlands Ranch; brother, Tristiam Cunningham of Denver; and nephews Hilton Cunningham, Tristiam Cunningham, Ethan Brugger and Will Brugger.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Cunningham.
Private services were previously held. A celebration of Kendra's life is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Two Rivers Community Center, 80 Lakeshore Drive in Gypsum (Dotsero).
