Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church. Burial will be at
Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
Ms. Miller was an owner
and operator of a mobile home
park.
She is survived by three
sons, Lamont of Cheyenne,
Wyo., Paul and Stephen, both
of Grand Junction; two daughters,
Mary Chapman of Grand
Junction and Peggy Levinson
of Fruita; 10 grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren.

Patricia “Pat” Miller passed
away December 13, 2010 at the
age of 90 at the Hospice Care
Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
She was born in Gardiner,
New Mexico to Margaret K. and
Lamont A. Hubbard and was the
second of six daughters. She grew
up in Gardiner and Raton, New
Mexico. After graduating from
Raton High School at the age of 16, she attended St. Mary of the
Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana. Pat married Walter Miller
on August 26, 1940 in Clayton, New Mexico and lived in Raton until
1965 at which time they moved to Grand Junction. She and
Walter owned and operated the Shamrock Motel and Mobile Home
Park.
Pat enjoyed traveling and was able to visit much of the world.
Along with her parents and sisters, she went to Europe in 1936,
through the Panama Canal in 1937 and to the Grand Canyon, San
Francisco and Alaska in 1938. She also traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia
to visit family as well as to America Samoa. Other adventures
took her to Jerusalem, India, Russia, England, Ireland, Scotland,
Hawaii and Mexico. She had a most enjoyable trip to Vienna, Austria
in December, 1985 with her sister, niece and daughter.
She was an avid reader throughout her life. She also enjoyed playing
bridge and the violin and was always ready for a picnic.
Pat is survived by her sons, Steve Miller, Grand Junction; Lamont
(Shirlee) Miller, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Paul (Lynn) Miller, Grand
Junction; daughters, Mary (John) Chapman, Grand Junction; Peggy
(Doug) Levinson, Fruita; sisters, Jane Robinson, Broomfield, Colorado
and Genevieve Baker, Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandsons,
Doug and Mike Miller, Aaron and Matthew Chapman, Troy and
Trace Levinson; granddaughters, Ann Snyder and Gail Chinook, as
well as eight great grandchildren. Her husband, Walter; sisters,
Phyllis, Charlotte and Harriet, and grandchildren, Shane and Darci
Miller predeceased her.
Special thanks to the caregivers at the Hospice Care Center, her
Hospice team, her dear friend, Jacquie and especially to her son
Steve for the exceptional care given to Pat.
Visitation will be at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson,
Friday, December 17 from 5 - 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow. A
funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 330
White Ave., Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
Arrangements are under the care of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
