Yoneko Saruwatari, 79,
Delta, died July 9, 2011, at St.
Mary’s Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at First Baptist Church
of Delta.
Survivors include her husband,
Tommy; two sons, David
of Grand Junction and Steve
of Delta; three daughters, Terry
Hall of Denver and Janice Meyer
and Sharon Parker, both of
Grand Junction; two brothers,
George Matsubara and Herbert
Matsubara, both of Hawaii; one
sister, Nobuko Mento of Hawaii;
and 10 grandchildren.

Delta resident, Yoneko (Yone)
Saruwatari passed away Saturday
July 9, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital
in Grand Junction, Colorado.
She was 79 years old.
Born in Hilo, Hawaii, Yone was
an avid Rockies and Broncos fan
and enjoyed cooking, gardening,
and keeping up with her grandchildren.
She is survived by Tommy, her husband of 56 years; her brothers,
George (Della) Matsubara of Pepeekeo, Hawaii and Herbert (Bea)
Matsubara of Honolulu, Hawaii and her sister, Nobuko Mento of
Honolulu, Hawaii; her children, David (Susan) Saruwatari of Grand
Junction; Steve Saruwatari of Delta; Terry (John) Hall of Denver;
Janice (Kraig) Meyer of Grand Junction, and Sharon (Frederick)
Parker of Grand Junction. She is also survived by ten grandchildren,
Garrett and Logan Saruwatari; Emily, Scotty and Adam Hall; Laura,
Jamie and Kayla Meyer, and Rachael and Nicholas Chaffee.
She was preceded in death by son, Michael Saruwatari and older
sister, Yoshiko Kunihiro.
Church services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Delta on
Friday, July 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held immediately
following the service at the Delta City Cemetery in Delta, Colorado.
