16th at her home in Surprise, AZ
with her loving husband and two
sons by her side.
Jill was born on September 29,
1955 in Delta CO, to Joseph J. and Mary J. Taylor. She attended
Delta County Schools through her senior year. Jill entered the
United States Air Force in 1980, thus beginning a stellar 20 year Air
Force career where she met and married Raymond D. Craven of
Pocatello, ID in January of 1982. They had two sons, Bryant Dean
Craven and Brandon Lee Craven. They divorced in 1990 and in
1993 Jill married the love of her life, Thomas A. Butler, of
Terryville, CT gaining a step-daughter Sarah C. Butler. Jill retired
with honors from the Air Force in March of 2000. During her Air
Force career and after she retired Jill attended five colleges and
universities earning a Bachelors of Science Degree as well as
completing a nursing program.
Jill and her husband Tom were partners in a kitchen and bathroom
design showroom in Glenwood Springs, CO for 5 years and owned
their own showroom in Grand Junction, CO for 4 years. Jill finished
out her working years in the lab at the VA Hospital in Grand
Junction, CO. Jill was deeply involved in her church and was
considered a “tireless prayer warrior”.
She was preceded in death by her father, brother, and sister. She is
survived by her mother Mary J. Taylor, her husband Thomas A.
Butler, her two sons, Bryant Dean Craven and Brandon Lee Craven,
her step-daughter daughter Sarah C. Butler, two nephews, Eric
Taylor and Martyn Taylor, and the joys of her life, her two
grandchildren, Micah Dean Craven and Marley Elizabeth
Ortego-Craven.
Jill was laid to rest at the V.A. National Memorial Cemetery of
Arizona, Phoenix, AZ. Contributions in Jill's memory can be made

Rd., Surprise, AZ 85374 or Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower
St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
Jill loved God, Family, and Country and her selfless devotion to
family, friends, and her country carried on until her journey home.
Jill was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grammy. She will
be dearly missed, but heaven has another angel watching over us.
