Sheryl Ann Braatz, 54, formerly of Bond, passed away surrounded by her children at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyo., on Sept. 29.
Sheryl was born Aug. 28, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of Donald and LaVonne Pierce. She grew up in Waterloo and married Randy Braatz on Dec. 2, 1977. They had three children and moved to Bond in 1989, where she helped in the family business, The Fireside Lodge.
She is survived by two sons, Rodney (Ruthie), of Laramie, Wyo., and Ryan (Maggie) of Oak Creek, and one daughter, Amy, of Rifle; four grandsons, Gabe, Ethan, Jayden and Randy; and two granddaughters, Kaylie and Holly.
She is also survived by her mother, LaVonne Meehan, of Santee, Calif.; two sisters, Donna Page, of Santee, Calif., and Susan Pierce, of Denver; a brother, Mark Pierce, of Waterloo, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Randy, in 2006; her father, Donald Pierce; a brother, Rodney Allan Pierce; and her grandparents.
Sheryl touched many lives and will be greatly missed. We love you, Mom.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the McCoy Community Church in McCoy. Friends are invited to join the family for a pot luck at the McCoy Legion Hut following the service.
