Grand Junction Daily Sentinel page 8 A Obit - July 20, 2011

Jorge was born in El Paso, Texas
on April 27, 1980. Jorge lived in
several different places before
settling in Grand Junction. He
made a life here where he gained
many friends and people who respected
him. Jorge was a welders
apprentice; he did whatever it
took to provide for his children.
Jorge's sons, Isaiah and Antonio were his pride and joy. Everything
he did, he did with them in mind and provided them with all that
they needed and even spoiled them a bit too... Just like all dads
should.
Jorge was a fighter. A practitioner of mixed martial arts and boxing.
Jorge was a force to be reckoned with. Often underestimated
because of this small stature, Jorge surprised many opponents with a
well placed head kick to remove all doubt. He trained with, coached
and earned the respect of many local and national, professional and
amateur fighters and boxers. Jorge was his son Isaiah's coach and
due to his teaching Isaiah has a very bright future as a boxer, his
papa was very proud. Jorge's interests were mixed martial arts, low
riding, and being an avid New England Patriots fan. One of Jorge's
favorite things to do was watch Patriot games with his son Isaiah,
who is a Patriots fan just like his papa. Jorge was also a mentor to
his little brother, Oso, a brother he loved with all his heart and believed
in very much.
Jorge leaves behind his father, Jorge Carrasco Sr.; brothers, Oso
and Jesus; sister, Liliana Barraza and sons, Isaiah and Antonio
Carrasco, as well as many friends and extended family.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Martin
Mortuary from 6 - 9:00 p.m., a celebration of Jorge's life will be
held Thursday July 21, 2011 also at Martin Mortuary at 1:00 p.m.
with burial to follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
