Marge Verzuh died of natural
causes on Wednesday, February
9, 2011 at the Grand Junction
Hospice Care Center. She was 88
years old.
When over the years someone
asked Marge what she desired out
of life, Marge’s singular response
was “To be a motherâ€.
Marge is survived by her children, Jay Verzuh, Grand Junction,
CO; Patty Verzuh Montgomery, Spring Creek, NV, and Christine
Verzuh of Grand Junction, CO.
She and her husband, John Verzuh raised their children in Gunnison,
CO. She was preceded in death by John in 1992 after 49 years
of marriage. The couple enjoyed camping, rock hunting, bird
watching and vegetable and flower gardening.
Marge had lived in Grand Junction since 1995 after moving from
Gunnison. She spent the last three years of her life at The Fountains
Assisted Living Center where she was kindly and professionally
cared for by staff members. She reveled in frequent visits from her
family and many friends.
Marge will be sorely missed by her grandchildren, Loni Verzuh,
Vail, CO; Tana Verzuh, Bayfield, CO; Trent Tulin, Mesa, AZ; step
grandchildren, Will Montgomery, Killeen, TX; Ryan Montgomery,
Spring Creek, NV; Lyndy Montgomery, Brighton, CO; great grandson,
Titus Tulin of Mesa, AZ, and step great grandson, Jonathan
Cole Kirkmeyer, Brighton, CO; nieces and nephews, Larry Gierhart,
Grand Junction, CO; Gary Gierhart, Vernal, UT; Mike Bambino,
Eddy Bambino, Karen Burckhalter, Debbie Arnspiger, and Cheryl
Bambino, all of Grand Junction.
Marge was preceded in death by her siblings, David Smith, Carolyn
Gierhart, and Nancy Bambino.
Visitation will be on Sunday February 13 from 3 - 5:00 p.m. at
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. A memorial service is scheduled for
Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the mortuary, 2515
Patterson Road, Grand Junction, Colorado. Interment will take place
in Gunnison, Colorado. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Gierhart,
Gary Gierhart, Mike Bambino, Bob Dressler, Arnie Gurule, and
Roger Rozman.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to Hospice
& Palliative Care of Western Colorado.

Ms. Verzuh worked in cosmetology
sales.

Jay of Grand Junction; two
daughters, Patty Montgomery
of Spring Creek, Nev., and
Christine Verzuh of Grand
Junction; three grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
