Frank I., "Jim" BERSHENYI, 73, died July 16 in Safford, Ariz., following an extended illness.
Mr. BERSHENYI was born Feb. 12, 1911 in Glenwood Springs. He grew up on a ranch and attended schools in the Glenwood area.
He married Neva JOHNSON in Denver on Jan. 21, 1937, and they ranched in the Gypsum Valley for 10 years.
After a brief retirement, Mr. BERSHENYI began working for the forest service, continuing there for 15 years.
He lived in Grand Junction several years, then moved to Mesa and Safford, Ariz.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three brothers, Joseph and John of Glenwood Springs, and Peter of Grand Junction, one sister, Elizabeth of Mesa, Ariz., several nieces and a nephew. Private interment took place Aug. 2 in Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Grand Junction, with the Rev. James KOENIGEFELD officiating. Martins Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial mass was held Aug. 10 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs, with the Rev. Joseph Laburer officiating.
