Dorothy Bea Moore January 19, 1919 – January 21, 2011 Dorothy Moore passed away on January 21, 2011 in Grand Junction, Colorado at the age of 92. She was born January 19, 1919 to John William "Nebraska Bill" and Mellie Ratliff in Ethel, Missouri. She lived in Ethel throughout her childhood, attending local schools. Dorothy was married to Ira Raymond "Ray" Moore on September 12, 1937 in Brookfield, Missouri. They were married until his death on November 3rd, 1989. After getting married, Dorothy and Raymond lived throughout the West, settling in Casper, Wyoming in 1952. Dorothy remained in Casper until moving to Grand Junction, Colorado, to be near her son and his family. Dorothy was a long time member of the Casper Elks BPOE Lodge 1353, as a Doe. As part of their love of horses, she was also a member of the Casper Roundup Club. She enjoyed participating in Club activities, including its volunteer activities for the State Fair and Rodeo, and local parades. Dorothy had a passion for cooking, particularly pies and cakes. With this passion, she worked at F.W. Woolworth in Casper managing the lunch counter, retiring after 27 years in 1980. Friends and family often gathered at the family home, appreciating her home cooked meals and hospitality. Dorothy was a member of the Christian Church. Dorothy was one of nine children, four brothers (James, Orval, Russell, and John William, Jr.) and four sisters (Mabel, Leola, Clella, and Lucille). Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, and her husband, Raymond. Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Marti Moore of Grand Junction, Colorado, and by her daughter, Phyllis Seymore of Hanceville, Alabama. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction officiated by Merle Miller of Appleton Christian Church. In addition, Pastor Leonard Robinson will conduct a graveside burial service on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Wyoming Memorial Gardens in Casper, Wyoming.
