Rose Richardson, 53, Grand Junction, died Jan. 23, 2011, at her home.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Martin Mortuary. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at American Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Don; three daughters, Kristine DeWitt, Wynona Salsbury and Melanie Logan, all of Grand Junction; her father, Lawrence Hennessey of Grand Junction; and seven grandchildren.

Rose Richardson January 29, 1957 – January 23, 2011 Rose Richardson went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 23, 2011, after a long battle with sclerosis of the liver at the age of 53. She was surrounded by her husband, and her daughters. Rose Marie Hennessey was born on January 29, 1957, to Larry and Wynona Hennessey in Montrose, Colorado. In 1958, the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she attended Chaparral High School and she graduated in 1975. In 1981 she was blessed with her daughter Kristine and blessed again with another daughter in 1983 when Wynona was born. In 1986 the whole family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado where she was a student at Mesa State College. Rose was always involved in her activities with her children and family. Rose served on the PTO at her daughters elementary and middle schools, was always the team mom for all the sports teams, was a troop leader for the Girl Scouts, and was a leader for the 4-H clubs. She also served on the board at Orchard Mesa little league. No matter what her daughters were doing she never missed a game or function. Rose is preceded in death by her mother, Wynona Hennessey. She is survived by her husband, Don Richardson; her father, Larry Hennessey; daughters, Kristine DeWitt (Jason), Wynona Atencio, and Melanie Logan (Matt) and also survived by her grandchildren, Austin, Cooper, and Bailey DeWitt; Jasmine and Richard Bonner, and Ethan Atencio. Funeral services will be held at American Lutheran Church on January 29 at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Orchard Mesa Cemetery following the services. A visitation will be on January on 28 from 4 - 6:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary. Martin Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
