JACK BINDLEY BURIED IN EAGLE FRIDAY.
Funeral services were held June 26 for E. J. (Jack) BINDLEY, in the Masonic Temple Mr. BINDLEY helped to establish.
The son of Tom and Mary Aminisie BINDLEY, he was born Sept. 5, 1886 in Kansas and spent his childhood in that state and in Missouri. On July 9, 1910, Mr. BINDLEY came to Colorado and entered the barber trade at Eagle. This business, the Silver Eagle Barber and Beauty Shop, he continued, in partnership with his son, Ira, until his death.
On July 16, 1912, he married Birdie Mae MOORE, and to this union were born four children. Beatrice Mae preceded her father in death July 4, 1946.
Mr. BINDLEY was one of the prominent leaders and boosters of Eagle. A member of the Masonic Lodge here since he came to the town, he served as secretary to the lodge for 19 years. He was president of the Eagle School Dist. No. 4 board, serving as president. And in that capacity, represented the Eagle district on the Eagle County High School committee when Eagle district was a part of that high school district. He was prominently identified with Republican circles, and a loyal supporter and worker in the Methodist Church.
At the death of their eldest daughter, Beatrice PHILLIPS, r. and Mrs. BINDLEY took her four small daughters to raise. Since 1946, Linda, Joyce, Gail and Connie have been like their own.
When Reverend H. C. MOOREHEAD conducted services Friday the Masonic Temple was filled to capacity with friends, a testimony to the high regard in which he was held by many.
Pallbearers were Nate POTTS, John CADDY, Virgil WILLIAMS, J. D. ALLEN, Lynn WALKER and Fred COLBY.
Bowman Mortuary of Eagle was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. BINDLEY is survived by his wife, one daughter, Ellen Faye SIXKILLER; two sons, Eldon of Corvallis, Ore., and Ira of Eagle; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother and several nieces and nephews.

HEART ATTACK FATAL TO JACK BINDLEY

One of lower Eagle River Valley's most prominent businessmen died in Valley View Hospital Tuesday afternoon of a heart attack suffered a few hours earlier. E.J. (Jack) Bindley died around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon after entering the hospital the previous evening.

Mr. bindley, founder of the Silver Eagle Barber Shop, was one of the early day bsuinessmen of Eagle. His shop was established about 50 years ago. In later years he added to the shop and instititued a beauty salon in connection with the barber shop. He was joined in the enterprise by his children, Ira Bindley and Ellen Faye Sixkiller.

He has long been prominently identified with the Masonic Lodge, being an active supporter and officer in the lodge at Eagle. He was also prominent in Methodist church circles.

Mr. Bindley had been in good health and in his shop regularly, until about a month ago when he suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. Since his recent return home, he seems to be showing progress. His death Tuesday was a shock to family and a large circle of friends.

Full Masonic and Eastern Star rites will be accorded Mr. Bindley when services are held for him at the new Temple, recently completed in Eagle. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services will be directed by Bowman Mortuary of Eagle. Surviving are his wife, Birdie of Eagle; two sons, Ira of Eagle and Eldon of the West Coast; and a daughter, Mrs. Ellen Faye Sixkiller of Gypsum.
