Long-time Gypsum resident Rex Bindley died April 2 in Longview, Texas. He was 66.

Rex was born March 27, 1943, in Glenwood Springs to William and Eleanor Bindley. He spent his life in Gypsum and moved to Longview two years ago. He was a dedicated Christian, devoted husband, loving father, life-long entrepreneur, a Vietnam veteran with the U.S. Marines, a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and a longtime pilot.

He was a member of Triumphant Christian Center.

Survivors include his wife DeAnna Bindley; daughter Karen Hobbs and her husband Rowdy and their children Mattie and Stryker; son Ryan Bindley; daughter Kristen Bindley; son Matt Baker; daughter Kara Baker; and sister Phyllis Bindley.

Memorial services for were held April 14 at Triumphant Christian Center in Longview, with Pastor Jan Simmons leading the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Triumphant Christian Center, 1308 Reel Rd., Longview, TX 75605.

Memorial services for Rex Bindley will be held Tuesday in Longview, Texas.

Memorial services for Rex Bindley, 66, of Longview, Texas, will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Triumphant Christian Center, 1308 Reel Rd., Longview, with Pastor Jan Simmons leading the service. Rex went to be with the Lord on Friday in Longview.

Rex was born March 27, 1943, in Glenwood Springs to William and Eleanor Bindley and had been a proud resident of Longview for the past two years, moving from Colorado. He was a dedicated Christian, devoted husband, loving father, life-long entrepreneur, a Vietnam veteran with the US Marines, a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and a longtime pilot.

Rex was a very passionate patriot and a true Texan at heart. He was a member of Triumphant Christian Center and loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife DeAnna Bindley; daughter Karen Hobbs and husband Rowdy and their children, Mattie and Stryker; son Ryan Bindley; daughter Kristen Bindley; son Matt Baker; daughter Kara Baker; and sister Phylis Bindley.
