Bunten and Hilda Wiggen
Bunten, was born March 12, 1921
in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Elsie
grew up in Rock Springs and attended
Barnes School of Commerce
in Denver, Colorado. There
she met and married Ernest John
Johnson of Potter, NE in Denver
on June 14, 1942. The couple moved to Rock Springs and lived
there until 1959 when they moved to Salt lake City, UT.
While in Salt Lake City, Elsie was involved in philanthropic organizations:
Salt Lake Council of Women, P.E.O., and the Assistance
League of Salt Lake.
Upon the death of her husband, on February 3, 2002, she moved to
Grand Junction, CO.
Elsie leaves behind two daughters, Gene'e (Calvin) Smith of Crystal
Beach, FL, and Barbara (Fred) Smith of Grand Junction, CO; two
granddaughters; a grandson, and a great grandson.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February
19, 2011 at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland
Drive, Salt Lake City, UT, 84106.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Elsie's name to
Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090 North 12th
Street, Unit B, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
