Thomas Jesse “T.J.” Price,
84, Grand Junction, died Feb. 19,
2011, at his home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday
at the Monument Baptist
Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Peggy; three sons, John and Bob,
both of Grand Junction, and
James of Phoenix; one daughter,
Mary Jane Livingstone of
Cheyenne, Wyo.; one sister, Betty
Airington of Midwest City,
Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.

T.J. passed away at age 84 at his
home with his wife and loved
ones by his side.
He was born to Ralph and Iola
(Boyet) on October 16, 1926 in
Tulsa, Oklahoma. T.J. graduated
from Lubbock High School, Lubbock,
Texas. He married Peggy
Jean Owens in Canadian, Texas,
on January 20, 1950. They were
blessed with three sons and one daughter. He began his working career
as drill helper with United Geophysical in Lubbock, Texas, in
1946. He continued his career with United Geophysical traveling to
India, South America, Alaska, the Western United States, and Australia.
When Bendix Field Engineering became the parent company
of United Geophysical, he was promoted to drilling superintendent
for their domestic and foreign drilling operations. In 1975, he transferred
to Grand Junction, Colorado, as manager of their domestic
and foreign drilling operations. He was a member of the Monument
Baptist Church. He was also a member of Scobey Masonic Lodge
#109, Scobey, Montana. He and his wife, Peggy, were avid sports
enthusiasts, attending the local high school and Mesa State College
sporting events. He also was active in building and flying RC Model
airplanes, golfing, gardening, and traveling the Western United
States.
He leaves behind his wife, Peggy Price of Grand Junction, CO;
three sons, James (Cindy) Price of Phoenix, AZ; John (Lily) Price
and Bob (Janice) Price of Grand Junction, CO, and one daughter,
Mary Jane (Michael) Livingstone of Cheyenne, WY; 11 grandchildren,
13 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Airington of Midwest
City, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents and one grandson, Patrick Owens Price.
There will be a memorial service at the Monument Baptist Church,
486 23 Road, Grand Junction, CO, on Saturday, February 25, 2011,
at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Canadian, TX, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made in
T.J.'s name to Alpine Home Health & Hospice, 2764 Compass
Drive, Suite 110, Grand Junction, CO 81506. Additionally, the family
would like to thank everyone at Alpine Home Health & Hospice
for their courtesy and thoughtfulness toward the family and for the wonderful care they gave T.J.
