FREDERICK R. BOOTH 1920-1993. Former Silver Plume Mayor Frederick R. BOOTH died at his Gypsum home Dec. 30. He was 73.
Mr. BOOTH was born Oct. 2, 1920 in Orland, Ind., the son of Frederick P. and Helen (Lincoln) BOOTH. He was raised and educated in Indians and later served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and on the U.S.S. Yurnal.
He moved to Colorado in 1946 and in 1959 he was the Mayor of Silver Plume and also served as the local Sheriff. He worked as a mason in the construction business and as a rancher. He moved to Gypsum in 1965 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. He was a member of the Star Lodge No. 225 AAF & AM in Orland, Ind.
Survivors include: his son, Frederick BOOTH of Gypsum; daughters Jacqueline PADGET of Jonesville, Minn., Helen BOOTH of Gypsum, and Lenore BOOTH of Orland; brother Lincoln BOOTH of Orland; sister Alice ELLIOTT of Howe, Ind.; granddaughters Dawn GREENMAN of Gypsum, and Christal STRONG of Jonesville; and great-grandchildren Jacob and Katie GREENMAN of Gypsum.
Funeral services were held Jan. 3 at the Gypsum Methodist Church. Interment was at Cedar Hll Cemetery, Gypsum. Masonic rites were conducted at graveside. Farnum-Holt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
