Claude Russell Boston

Services were held Tuesday for former Eagle resident Claude Russell Boston.

Boston, 84, was born in Ashley, Ill., on Sept. 17, 1921, to Claude Eric and Laura (Clark) Boston. Laura Boston passed away at an early age and Claude was then raised by Alma Marsh. He passed away at Delta Memorial Hospital, in Delta, Colo., April 14.

Claude served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He married Mary Louise Andrews on October 4, 1941 at Bowling Green, Mo. They had three children. He was a member of the WhiteHall Baptist Church, WhiteHall, Illinois. He was a member of American Veterans 100.

While in Eagle, Boston worked for the Eagle County School District, and at the old Loaf and Jug store.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise; son, Bob, Jacksonville, Illinois; daughter, Mary Ann Harris, Olathe, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ilah Mae Bushnell, Jacksonville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bill; and two grandchildren, Brian and Lori.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Claude Boston Memorial Fund, c/o The Bank of the West, 402 Main, Delta, Colo., 81416; or 401 East Main Street, Montrose, Colo., 81401.

Funeral services were held April 18 at the Eagle Methodist Church. Burial followed at Olathe Cemetery, Olathe, Colo.
