Vail Daily page A7 - July 16, 2008

Joseph Quintin Bowen was peacefully taken into the lord's arms on Sunday while at home surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born on Dec. 8, 1946, at his family's home near Stratton, Colo. He served in Korea during the Vietnam War and, after returning home, he enjoyed over 40 years in the grocery business.

He and his family faithfully attended Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Canon City, Colo.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Colleen; sons Gary Bowen and wife Michelle, of Indianapolis, and John Bowen and wife Karuna, who live overseas; daughters Destany Davis and husband Dave, of Littleton, Catherine Reyes and husband David, of Colorado Springs, Rose Bowen of Canon City; and nine grandchildren.

Also surviving are brothers Maynard Bowen, Raymond Bowen, Lloyd Bowen, Roy Bowen and Ronald Bowen; and sisters Mary Reich and Martha Johnson.

Services will be held on Thursday at Vineyard Main in Canon City at 2 p.m. The church address is 629 Harrison, Canon City, CO 81212.

Because of Joe's passion for missions the family is asking that instead of flowers, donations be given to youth missions programs to help spread the message of Jesus to the lost. The family suggests John and Kara ministries or Vineyard Youth Missions as some of the many great places to support financially. If you would like to support one of these ministries please send a check made out to "Vineyard Christian Fellowship" to 245 South Raynolds Canon City, CO 81212 with the appropriate ministry noted in the memo field.
