Taft Mackenzie Conlin was born in Glenwood Springs on June 19, 1998. He died Jan. 22 at the age of 13 years in Vail in an avalanche while skiing with close friends. Taft is best remembered for his infectious enthusiasm, his original humor, bright eyes and smile, creativity, ability to enjoy the moment and his pursuit of fun. Adept at all things sport, he was passionate about skiing, lacrosse and paintball.
Taft is survived by parents, Dr. Louise Ingalls and Dr. Steve Conlin, sister Madeleine Conlin, grandmothers Cynthia Ingalls and Sharon Conlin, aunts and spouses Rebekah Ingalls and Larry Hansen, Cyndi Lang Ingalls and Tom Caron, Nina Ingalls and Andrew Gaspard, Mackenzie Conlin and Scott Jackson, uncles and spouses David Ingalls and Dara McKinley, Finnius Ingalls, Redmond Ingalls, David Conlin and Michelle Sullivan, and myriad cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Taft's memory to the Youth Foundation (http://theyouthfoundation.org) or the Taft Conlin Memorial Scholarship at Vail Mountain School (www.vms.edu/taft).
