Richard "Dick" Lay of Collbran passed away Friday, April 1, 2011
at his home at the age of 77.
Dick was born September 9, 1933 in Rico, CO to William E. and
Caroline (Marshall) Lay. He graduated from Montrose High School
and Mesa Junior College. From 1953 - 1955, Dick served in the U.S.
Army. He married Claudia J. Hansen.
Dick worked as an equipment installer for the telephone company.
After retiring, he owned and operated the Tackle Box in Collbran.
He was also an avid Denver Broncos fan.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia; sons, Thomas Lay of Ogden,
UT and Don Arbuckle of Arvada, CO; daughters, Vicki (Bud) Benning
of Collbran and Chris (Marion) Morford of Grand Junction;
brother, Robert (Joyce) Lay of Commerce City, CO; ten grandchildren
and ten great grandchildren. Dick's parents; brother, Earnest
and great grandson, Benjamin Morford preceded him in death.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.
