Delta resident, Lois M. Brandstadt,
passed away peacefully at
her residence on Thursday, March
31, 2011 in Delta, Colorado. She
was 74 years of age.
A funeral service honoring
Lois's life will be held at 10:00
a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at
the First Assembly of God
Church in Delta, Colorado with
Pastor Lee Ponder officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 -
9:45 a.m. prior to the service at First Assembly of God Church. Interment
will follow the service at the Delta City Cemetery in Delta,
Colorado.
Lois Marie Brown was born on August 3, 1936 in Montrose, Colorado
to the late Loyd and Adele (Gibson) Brown. She grew up in
Montrose, Colorado and graduated from Montrose High School.
On April 10, 1955, Lois married Harold James Brandstadt in Montrose,
Colorado. They have been residents of Delta, Colorado for the
past 56 years.
Lois loved farming and ranching and especially farm animals. She
also loved attending family reunions, camping and the mountains.
Lois was an out-doors-woman: trees, rocks and soil were her passion.
Lois is survived by her loving husband, Harold Brandstadt of
Delta, Colorado; four sons, Kenneth Brandstadt of Grand Junction,
Colorado; Donald Brandstadt and spouse, Maria of Bennington,
Oklahoma; Gary Brandstadt of Grand Junction, Colorado, and
Melvin Brandstadt and spouse, Mona of Delta, Colorado; five sisters,
Thedus Castle and Thelma Smith, both of Montrose, Colorado;
Judy Wilson and spouse, Wendell of Powderhorn (Lake City), Colorado;
Joyce Weedeward of Shepherd, Montana, and Karra Jean
Austin of Gunnison, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Zilla Mae Brown of
Olathe, Colorado; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Adele Brown;
a son, John Henry Brandstadt; sister, Doris Sames; brother, Lyle
Brown, and a daughter-in-law, Darla Brandstadt
Memorial contributions may be made in Lois' memory to Hospice
and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P. O. Box 24, Delta, Colorado.
