Violet Rose Heldman passed away Thursday, March 31st of natural
causes at the age of 92. She was born in Telluride, Colorado, the
eldest of six siblings and attended Norwood High School where she
played basketball and graduated in March of 1935. She was married
to Arnold Frushour and they had a daughter, Susan Rose Seevers
(also deceased) and lived in Denver, Colorado. Arnold Frushour was
killed in the line of duty during World War II and Violet and her
daughter returned to Norwood where she a type setter for the Norwood
Star Newspaper. She married Lloyd Davis and became a
step-mother to three children, Wayne Davis of Canon City, Colorado;
Norma Stokes of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and John Davis
of Olathe, Colorado. After Lloyd's death she worked for the United
States Postal service, eventually serving as the Post Master at the
Norwood Post Office until her retirement in 1979. Violet then married
Charles Heldman who passed away in 2008.
Violet is survived by her younger sisters, Edith Williams of Grand
Junction, Colorado; Nancy Todd of California, as well as, numerous
grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held for Violet Heldman on Saturday,
April 9th at the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary at 3:00 p.m., located at
2515 Patterson Road in Grand Junction, Colorado. After the service
the family will be meeting for dinner inviting any who wish to attend
at a location to be announced at the conclusion of the memorial
service.
On Sunday, April 10th at 1:00 p.m. there will be a brief graveside
service for Violet Heldman at the Norwood Cemetery in Norwood,
CO.
In lieu of flowers her family requests that you make a donation in
Violet's name to the Norwood Cemetery where much of her family
