Mrs. Ella LEWIS was born in Canton, Ohio, Dec. 25, 1884 and passed away in Denver, Dec. 8, following a two months illness.
When she was a young woman she came west, going to Cheyenne, Wyo., then to Grand Junction, where she met and married Thomas E. LEWIS, then associated with the merchandising firm of Hughes and Company at Palisade.
In the fall of 1915 the couple moved to Eagle to operate a store for the same company, later buying the business which has been known for years throughout the county as Lewis Store.
Mrs. LEWIS was an active member of the store staff until she became ill two months before her death.
Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. LEWIS, Imogene, Harry and John, who with Mr. LEWIS survive.
Private funeral services were held at Linger's Mortuary in Denver Friday conducted by Rev. Delbert PAULSON of Golden, former pastor of the Eagle Methodist Church.
Mrs. LEWIS' resting place is at Fairmount Mausoleum, Denver.
