Jesse Sullivan, age 34 passed
away on May 2, 2011.
He was born on April 24, 1977
in Denver to Brian Sullivan and
Terry (Gayton) Dunn. He spent
his childhood on the western
slope and in Denver. He attended
Fruita Monument High School.
He was a foreman in the oil and
gas industry.
Jesse married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Klumker on
April 29, 2006 in Grand Junction. He was an incredible husband,
father, son, brother, and uncle. He was so very loved by his family
and his friends. He embraced and was close to everyone in his life.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, floating down the river, disc golf,
playing cards and the Denver Broncos. He was very involved with
his children, whom he adored, and enjoyed their sporting activities.
Jesse had a contagious smile, that would easily turn into a contagious
laugh. Everyone that met Jesse loved him, they could see his
kind soul. Anyone looking for him knew that he would be found relaxing
in his garage and they were welcome to join him.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, Brad Dempsey, and
daughter, Lindsay Dempsey, all of Fruita, CO; his daughter, Angela
Sullivan of Denver; mother and step-father, Terry (Bobby) Dunn;
father and step-mother, Brian (Ruth) Sullivan; father and
mother-in-law, Terry and Tracy Klumker; sister, Sunny Sullivan of
Grand Junction; brother, Matt (Frannie) Mercer of Grand Junction;
sisters, Michelle Mercer (Jeremy Sigler) Grand Junction; Vonni
Mercer, Grand Junction; Casey Mercer, Denver; brothers-in-law,
Lane (Stacy) Klumker, Ricky Dye, and Mike Zunich; sister-in-law,
Abby Dye, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his step-father, Mel Mercer; grandparents, Robert and
Margery Sullivan, and Dan and Ethel Gayton; uncle, Neil Sullivan,
and brother-in-law, Pete Davoren.
A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, May 6th at 10:00 a.m.
at the Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita. Dewayne Davis will officiate.
A reception will follow at Faith Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jesse Sullivan Memorial
Fund at any Wells Fargo.
Jesse was well known for his immaculate lawn, it will never be the
same. “Grass is really gonna miss him.”
We love you Jesse. Rest in Peace.
