Ruth Ubell, age 90, passed away
peacefully surrounded by her
family on Friday evening, April
29, 2011 at Montrose Memorial
Hospital.
Ruth Evelyn Sewell was born on
November 3, 1920 in Jerico
Springs, Missouri to parents, Albert
Lee and Margaret Jane
(McIntosh) Sewell. She spent her
childhood on the family farm and grew to adulthood. While working
at the uranium mill labs in Naturita, Colorado she met Anthony
John Ubell. They married in Raton, New Mexico in 1946. To their
union were born five children, Carolyn, David, Andrea, D'etta and
Fred. They raised their family in Nucla until moving to Grand Junction,
closer to medical care for her husband. Tony passed away in
1989. In 1997, Ruth moved to Olathe, Colorado near her son where
she remained. Ruth was a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother and
grandmother. She enjoyed painting, flower gardening, fish and
birds. She will be greatly missed.
Ruth is survived by her children, Carolyn Kirby of Fayette, Missouri;
David Ubell and wife, Susan of Olathe, Colorado; Andrea
Snow and husband, Alan of Blanding, Utah; D'etta Redding and
husband, Brad of Rifle, Colorado and Fred Ubell of Fort Collins,
Colorado; grandchildren, Oran, Bradley, Brett, Amy, Jason, Scott,
Tracy, Kevin and Matthew along with 18 great-grandchildren.
